Sew a tie-on pocket with hamblemouse: two-part Saturday workshop

Join me for some calm, mindful hand stitching as you make your own beautiful and useful historically-inspired pocket to wear every day. No more dropped or misplaced phones!

The venue is the fabulous Purple Pumpkin Patch in Loughborough, where you’ll be surrounded by an absolute treasure trove of craft supplies and quirky gifts while you sew.

Part 1 of 2: July 26th or August 2nd, 2:00 – 4:30

Part 2 of 2: August 9th or 23rd, 2:00 – 4:30

Can’t make both dates? email me at [email protected]! There’ll be more dates coming and I’ll keep you in the loop.

In Part 1 we’ll explore the history of pockets, looking at images and real-life examples that I’ve made. You’ll also begin sewing your own, starting with the main body of the pocket.

In Part 2 you’ll complete the main body of your pocket if you didn’t finish in Part 1. Then, you’ll add some simple decorative stitches and finish off with securing the top and adding the ties.

As well as your finished pocket, you’ll take home a pattern and a copy of my full-colour, step-by-step instruction booklet to help you make more pockets at home – by hand or sewing machine.

Suitable for all levels of confidence – I’ve made hundreds of tie-on pockets and will guide you every step of the way.

Part 1 costs £22 and includes all materials, equipment and a choice of fabric.

Part 2 (booked separately) costs £22 and includes all equipment and a choice of decorative materials, plus a pattern and instruction booklet to take home.
